'Forever' Aloe Vera Samples

Recently, I was sent various Aloe Vera samples by Jeanette Isaac, over at http://www.jeanetteshealthylivingproducts.flp.com/ . They were from a company called 'Forever', which Jeanette is a part of. 'Forever' was founded in 1978 and it was designed to help anyone who wanted a better future to attain it on their own.

I've spent a few weeks getting through the samples (she kindly sent me quite a few!) and I want to share what I thought of each product.

This everyday moisturiser contains bee propolis so it can be used to soothe irritated skin. It also contains chamomile, comfrey and of course, aloe vera. It is great for dry skin and leaves a protective barrier on the skin. I really like that is suitable for people who suffer with eczema and psoriasis. It has a rich texture and a pleasant fragrance.

This multi-purpose gel is very soothing and you notice nearly instantly that it moisturises and conditions the skin. I used this when my skin was particularly dry and needed something more than an everyday moisturiser. It has countless benefits and numerous uses, from skin allergies to cuts and bruising.

After quite a long day and wanting to relax, I used this and it was relaxing and soothing. It is great for joints and muscles as it is a warming agent, so I'd definitely recommend this for people who play sports. It is also great to use on arthritic joints, headaches and bruising.

This moisturiser is great for replenishing moisture lost from the skin. You can use it on your face, hands and body as it's rich in texture but easily absorbed. It contains collagen and elastin to keep the skin smooth and elastic, whilst maintaining it's natural pH balance. It's so good.

This one was a very weird concept for me. I'd never heard of aloe vera toothpaste so was excited to give this a go! It contains only natural peppermint and spearmint flavourings, and is even suitable for vegetarians. It benefits the gums with it's anti-bacterial action and whitens teeth without the nasty bleaching agents. It doesn't contain fluoride and fights plaque, keeping breath minty fresh.

These natural hair products were created to give you silky, strong and manageable hair. They are mild yet cleanse thoroughly and adds body to your hair. The jojoba oil replenishes lost moisture and nutrients to the scalp and soothes any irritation. I really believe these can be used on any hair types. Oh, and I noticed fly-away hair was a lot more manageable when I used these products.

This gel has been formulated to soothe joints and muscles. It contains MSM, a naturally occurring source of organic sulphur, which penetrates into the skin to aid the muscles. Due to the sulphur content, it also helps to soothe irritable skin and it smells good too!

So that's what I thought of each product, along with some information about the amazing ingredients included in them all!

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation in Light Vanilla
"Bourjois 1.2.3. Perfect Foundation gives a flawless even complexion for 16hrs, thanks to a new generation formula. 3 correcting pigments for zero imperfections: Yellow pigments: Anti dark circles. Mauve pigments: Anti dull complexion. Green pigments: Anti redness." Boots.

I purchased this Bourjois foundation when I was on the search for a higher coverage foundation for my prom make up. It was on offer in Boots so I couldn't resist trying it out!

As you can see, the packaging is convenient and quite informative. The foundation is dispensed using a pump which makes it easy to control how much you need.
I'd describe the texture of this foundation to be soft, easy to blend and runny. It has an amazing fruity scent which doesn't linger when on the skin. To get an even coverage on my face, I use about 1-2 pumps of this on the back of my hand and apply with my fingers. I then go over with my foundation brush to make sure it is blended down my neck and around my nose. It gives a medium coverage which makes the redness on my skin disappear! I have bad dark circles and this didn't give as much coverage on them as I'd like, so I always use concealer too. I'd agree with the anti-dull claims as I found this foundation makes my skin look healthier.
If you have dry skin I'd suggest moisturising before you apply this foundation as I found it clings to dry patches.
When used with my primer and powder, it lasted the whole day until I take my make up off on a night. It claims to give you a "flawless complexion for up to 16 hours" which I am unfortunately not going to put to the test because I never wear my make up for 16 hours at a time!

Light Vanilla
This is an amazing foundation and I'll definitely be repurchasing!

You can buy it for £10.99 from Boots, Superdrug and Amazon.

Have you tried this? What are your thoughts?

Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer

Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer
I had to try this. I had read too many good reviews about it and couldn't resist when I saw Soap&Glory products were on offer in Boots a few months ago.

Light
"Includes an amazing under eye brightening concealer with PUFFEASE-8™ technology, SUPERWEAR™ light scrambling ‘on the spot’ complexion concealer & a weightless transparent setting powder with INSTA-FIX™ polymer technology." Boots.

The packaging stands out and holds the product well, I really like Soap&Glory packaging! It is also very informative.

The "camouflage kit" includes a under-eye brightening concealer, a superwear face concealer and a concealer setting powder. As you can see, the products are held quite well  and the little mirror comes in very handy if you want to carry this in your bag. It also comes with a little powder puff which is great if you want to apply when out.

Concealer Sealing Powder with Insta-fix Polymer Technology
With this powder, a little goes a long way. You may be thinking how come mine has touched pan? Well, I use this powder all over my face to set all of my make up. I can definitely see my make up lasts a lot longer when I use this over the top. It has quite a chalky feel to it but I find it doesn't cling to dry patches at all.  Soap&Glory really need to sell the powder separately!

Under-eye Brightening Concealer with Puffease-8 and Superwear Lightscramble Face Concealer
Unfortunately I haven't used the two concealers just as much as the beloved powder. Because my skin is so pale, I find these concealers (especially the under-eye brightening one, left) to be too yellow on my skin, even with foundation. I am able to wear the superwear face concealer (right) on small blemishes if I blend it well and apply my darkest shade foundation.
It is a shame as they both have great coverage and the under-eye brightening concealer cancels out dark circles really well. They are also both so easy to blend due to them being creamy.

This is an amazing product from Soap&Glory, but obviously I'd love them to make a paler shade so I am able to wear the concealer. If not, at least make the setting powder available to purchase separately, please?!

You can buy the Soap&Glory Kick Ass Concealer for £10.00 at Boots, Soap&Glory and Amazon.

Soap&Glory Archery Brow Tint and Precision Shaping Pencil

Soap&Glory Archery Brow Tint and Precision Shaping Pencil
I was after a new eyebrow product for my prom make up which defined my eyebrows more and made them a little darker. There was an offer on at Boots so I decided to give this a go after hearing many people raving about it.

Love is Blonde
The packaging on Soap&Glory products is so informative and colourful. I really like how fun it looks yet the products are serious in the way that they all work amazingly!

"What’s inside that counts? Antioxidant vitamin E. Long-lasting film formers ensure all day wear. Aloe vera & chamomile flower extract to help condition and protect skin." Boots.

The left end of the double-sided pen sports a brow tint which enables you to fill in any sparse areas of your eyebrows and define the outer area / arch of your eyebrow a little more. The right side holds a retractable pencil which can be used for filling in the eyebrows. The pencil isn't as soft as I'd like and it took a few swipes to get the swatch below. However, it isn't as difficult when you are applying to your eyebrows and looks much fainter. This lasts on my eyebrows for the whole day until I take my make up off on a night.

Left: Pencil  Right: Tint

I have been using this everyday since I bought it a few months ago, I definitely recommend it!

Have you tried it? What are your thoughts?

You can buy it for £10.00 at Boots, Soap&Glory and Amazon in 2 shades: Love is Blonde and Brownie Points.

Soap&Glory It's About Prime Eyeshadow Underbase

Soap&Glory It's About Prime Eyeshadow Underbase
To be honest, I bought the Soap&Glory Eyeshadow Underbase on a whim. I was looking for a eyeshadow primer to use for prom as I was doing my own make up, but I hadn't seen any reviews on this primer. I decided to buy it because it was on offer in Boots at the time and I do not regret it!

Bright Light
I love Soap&Glory packaging. I find it's very eye-catching and has a lot of information on about the specific product.

"Base layer for crease-free, no smudge, smooth and uniform eye colour.
Contains Intsa-Lift™ Firming Para Cress Flower Proteins (to help reduce the depth of fine lines), anti–crease long wear polymers, coffee extract to fight puffiness and restore the skin’s lipidic layer." Boots.

The foam applicator makes it really easy to dot on your eyelids and I use my finger to blend it. The product is very creamy and doesn't drag when blending. It is sort of translucent once blended, however it does have a slight shimmer in. This means you can even wear it on its own!

It does not crease at all with or without eyeshadow over the top. I wore my prom make up for at least 9 hours and when I went to remove it, the eyeshadow still looked just as it did when I applied it. Plus, the tube will last you forever as you only need a little on each eyelid to secure your eyeshadow.

Bright Light

I definitely recommend this eyeshadow primer! Have you tried it? What are your thoughts?

You can buy it for £8.00 at Boots, Soap&Glory and Amazon.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in 03 Hot Pepper

The moment I first tried these, I instantly regretted waiting so long to purchase one. I am a sucker for matte finishes; and these claimed to do that and more!

Bourjois have kindly given us 6 different shades made up of bold reds, pinks and nudes. The high pigmentation lipsticks set to a velvety matte finish, and believe me they do not budge once applied! It feels like you aren't wearing any product as they are so lightweight.

Matte lipsticks often tend to be on the dry side, but that is not the case here. However, if you have extremely dry lips, I'd suggest exfoliating before application as they sometimes can cling to dry patches. Many people have described the smell as "industrial", whereas I haven't particularly took notice of it so it mustn't be that bad!

I apply one coat with the foam applicator first to fill in the shape of my lips. I then touch up and make sure everything is looking neat. To avoid smudging and staining anywhere other than my lips, I allow it to dry for a few minutes. If you just want to achieve a sheer stain of colour, you can apply with your fingers and blend out.

I found it didn't quite last 24 hours as claimed (who needs a lipstick to last a whole day anyway?!), but more around the 4 hours mark before I needed to re-apply.

I am so impressed by this launch from Bourjois. The Rouge Edition Velvets are everything you could want in a matte liquid lipstick. I can't wait to try more shades!

The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipstick retails for £8.99.
Buy it at Boots, Superdrug, Amazon and Bourjois.

What are your thoughts on the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets?

*Bourjois products are 2 for £14 in Boots at the moment. If that doesn't make you give in to temptation then I don't know what will!*

Tuesday 1 July 2014

I've missed you.

Hello,
I'm not sure how to explain why i am back blogging after about 7 months of  disappearance. This is very weird for me to do. Because i was so busy with school work, i couldn't handle my blog at the same time. I wanted to do my best for my blog, but obviously my GCSE's came before that, even though i enjoyed everything about my blog. I thought the best move was to completely stop writing my blog, which i regret. Therefore, i want to begin writing again.
During my break of blogging, i still managed to read everyone's blogs in my spare time, and have been wanting to start writing again for months.
I have thought about this a lot and my blog is something i want to continue.
I hope people understand,
